My Latest Pen and Ink Drawings

The purpose of today's blog post is for a small exhibition of my latest pen and ink drawings.  It is accompanied by music by Paul Hindemith, one of my favorite composers.  To view, click on the words (read more).

Unfortunately the blog will only accept videos made in a format that is a bit fuzzy and the lines are not as sharp as they are in the drawings.  I do feel that they are well represented, so proceed on and I hope you will have an enjoyable 4 minutes.  Ciao!

  Finally , a visit to Italy’s first Starbucks which has opened in Milano.   My wife had a knitting convention in Milano and she came   through with some photos to show my blog readers.   I had written about this Starbucks insertion a few times, and it certainly took some years to finally open for business.   Previously, the originator and American owner of Starbucks had promised never to open a Starbucks in Italy, but as you will see, he changed his mind. Greetings from my village coffee bar. Yesterday, driving home from Croatia, there was a dangerous downpour made the autostrada dangerous, not only to go forward, but even to pull off. Even if we could finally find a place to escape we were afraid to leave in case of being hit from behind. Fifteen minutes can feel like a lifetime! On the way from home there is a stretch of autostrada near Latisana, which for several reasons has more accidents than anywhere else. This Friday was no exception. A crash being cleared caused a second crash that had occurred just minutes from our passing. A driver had been driving too fast and too close and when he reached the stopped traffic, it was too late. The back end of the lead car was mashed as if a giant sledge hammer had hit is, even the muffler was crashed and hanging down. Eating Habits of Italians vs. Americans

 I belong to a cooking forum on the internet.  The majority of people who write or make comments live in the USA.  I have lived in Italy for 14 years and over this time I have realised the huge differences between the majority of Italians and many Americans.  I won't estimate the latter but I think, maybe a lot of them.   Cooking and devouring what is set before us has become more important than in the past.  Cooking channels, Cooking contests, Youtube recipes, info on where to eat where to go, and even eating challenges like Man Versus Food are popular. Let's start with the Italians.  If you sit in a restaurant here you will see their plates with a small serving of one item.  The menu offers  3 courses, but I usually see Italians ordering only 2 of the offerings.  Their main course will not feature many items on the one dish and also items not touching.  You will never see a plate of pasta, with some cooked vegetable next to it, nor will you see meat, potatoes, and vegetables
